Route 40

Mapa Ruta 40 My trip on Route 40, has three parts, three different trips and different sections made.
Start with the first ...
It was with Lucas, already know, is my brother. Made from Perito Moreno (town) to Calafate , stopping in El Chalten, a few days and getting to Calafate to see the glacier. Let me explain with the map we did, we were in Comodoro Rivadavia , in my father's house, went out of there.
As you see in the map, we crossed the plateau on Route 26, include the location of the Ancients, which is exactly the black point of the map, Perito Moreno is at the same height, but the Route 40.
Nearby to the south of the Cave of the Hands , is Bajo Caracoles, a people, it is: a hotel, petrol station and a campground. Windy and desolate landscape, sleep there. I still remember the noise of the wind and the feeling that the store at midnight ... and flew us there. Heh, Heh. Away from noise and people, here you are truly alone.
When we went to the cave, I found the beautiful River Canyon Road Paintings, the stretch of walking we did observe that there are various paintings, made by the Indians. Thinking through the hands and drew animals, expressing his daily life, nature and art.

Returning to Route 40, when one passes by it, you feel different sensations. I mean I went through the 3 sections, which are totally different. The route presents a desolate landscape with a sky falls, embracing and falling on the horizon.
Here, gentlemen, or the phone does not work!
You see his countrymen from neighboring villages and farms, waiting long minutes on the road, hitchhiking to a car or bus pass.

Going to El Chalten we had to make that stretch and sleep in Three Lakes, the map does not appear, but this by 40, near Route 23 which is what takes you to Chalten . Here, we could not find the campsite, there are more houses and more like a people who Bajo Caracoles, but it was difficult to interpret where we had to go. Until I saw a yard with a wooded and a man, here we were.
He had to settle, so it does not make us the night was windy over yet!
