PN Monte León

La Hoya, P. N. Monte León It is located 200 km. the city of Rio Gallegos and 30 km. north of the town of Commander Luis Piedra. It is the first coastal national park in Argentina. Opened in 2004. The park is a sea lion and penguin. Protects an area of ​​60,000 ha., 40 km. the coast. Magellanic penguins inhabit, seals, and guanacos. The Island Mountain Lion near the coast is home to shags, gulls, kelp gulls, black oystercatcher, etc. You can visit at low tide. While the tidal range is large, the water returns quickly. You can also fish from bass, mackerel, etc..
